The West House and what to cook
Had a lovely outing on Thursday. A friend who was bereaved six months ago was experiencing her first birthday without her much loved husband. All those firsts are always especially difficult. She decided that she wanted to celebrate that birthday well, and then forget...
What a gorgeous time of year! Here’s a few pics of the garden
I love this gorgeous time of year! Everything is hurling itself out of the ground and I’ve taken a few snaps of what’s happening in my garden.
Are you in your ideal job? Do you even know what you would be good at?
Do you love your job, is it your ideal job, does it excite and fulfil you and provide your inner needs? Yes? Well done you and congratulations, you’ve found a niche that’s a good fit. No? Much more common! It’s uncomfortable, stifling and can be very hard going...
I haven’t been on holiday, the days have just slipped away and I’ve neglected you
Another long gap with no blogging where I’ve neglected you, where does the time go. I’ve tried to do the odd Facebook comment and update so I hadn’t disappeared altogether, but I know not everyone does Facebook Saturday 13th A friend invited me to lunch with 2 other...
A bit of a walk and a day out in Alfriston
Day out today. We pootled off down to Alfriston. I wanted to have a leisurely look around after visiting the village briefly on a WI garden group visit to Alfriston Clergy House recently. Cheekily, we parked in the massive car park of the Deans Place Hotel. Parking is...

Crispy Lemon Skin and refurbished pots
These were lovely. They tasted just as you might imagine. They were crispy, slightly bitter and very lemony. They would be fabulous on top of a creamy pasta dish; stirred into a dish of oily olives as anti-pasti or used as a garnish for all kinds of things. Obviously, lemon zest is used on all kinds of things, this gives an alternative, and interesting, option.
Easter Fun, Easter Eggs and half price posh chocolate
How’s your Easter going? We decided to get a leg of lamb on Friday and drove to Aldi at Bexhill to pick one up. But we’d left it too late and they’d sold out, no matter. The shop was completely rammed! We got a couple of other things instead and we’ll get some lamb...
