Kale
This strong tasting veg is not to everyones taste (personally I like strong brassicas), very popular recently. I most often use it as an accompaniment, sautéed in olive oil, a little butter sometimes, with salt and pepper.

Almost as useful as onions, leeks can be used as the basis of a dish - try a Leek Crumble, with fresh and dried cranberries, and walnuts
