Repeats, next steps and down in the woods
Had some of these Beet Burgers yesterday for lunch. This time I used breadcrumbs from the freezer instead of oats. I’ve got some cooked aduki beans in the fridge to use in various things, so I used those instead of chickpeas. There was half a jar of fancy mushrooms...
Sage, lemon and pumpkin seed pesto £2.99 for a huge jar
Mmmm, lovely! Surprisingly mild in sage flavour, a very slight sweetness from the raisins, nuttiness from the pumpkin seeds, a little citrusy hit and that distinctive Olive oil flavour.
The last few days
It was my birthday and when Mike asked what I wanted, I light heartedly said – a weekend away! Well he only went and organised one didn’t he, first time in nearly 40 years!
Vouchers – save ’em, spend ’em or fritter ’em?
Well have I ever had a great day today! Books, books and more books!
On our Hols
We’ve been away! I would love to chat away to you on all the lovely things we do when away whilst they are happening, but Mike thinks it is a security risk and doesn’t like it. I suppose he’s right, it would be easy to find out where we live, so I, reluctantly,...
Overnight Oats – squillions of ideas

I was intending to go up the gym today to do the first workout of the week. But Mike wanted to go out, so I said, alright, but I need to get some exercise in.

Insomnia, a good read and Halloumi for dinner
Had an ordinary day yesterday, neither slothful nor very active. No chocolate or any other caffiene. Went to bed at 10pm, as usual, read until 11pm, as usual, laid down to go to sleep, and stared at the ceiling for the next two and a half hours. At that point, I got...
Home made sausages
I have been fancying for a while having a go at making sausages, and this week, I did just that. They were glorious!
High fat or low fat, where do you stand?
There was a very interesting article in the New Scientist this week. It is talking about the evidence that a diet with carbohydrates at the level that the government currently recommends is one of the big reasons for the obesity crisis. I find the argument compelling....
