Thrifty Lesley

It’s ages since I’ve done just a catch up post, so I thought I’d do one today. This has partly been triggered by some blogmin I’ve been doing. I’ve been blogging for over 6 years now, but haven’t really been doing all the stuff that needs to be done to help Google find it. It’s the writing I enjoy, the recipe development and construction of a cheap meal plan. There is masses to do and I’ve asked Lemoneye, the chaps who host the blog in the town where I live, to help me. They’ve got a young lass newly working for them who came in looking for work experience, and she’s ploughing her way through all the posts putting the right Tags on everything. Meanwhile, I’ve been looking at all the posts that have a category of Uncategorised. I’ve been reading lots of them and it’s been delightful reminiscing about things that were happening a few years ago. Most of  the ones that aren’t a recipe go under the category My Diary You might have noticed a new selection on the Thrifty Lesley Recipes tab. If you want to search for anything using Categories (meal plans, dinners, Christmas) and/or Tags (cheese, olives, my diary) that’s the tab for you

Loft Extension

upstairs in a loft extension

If you followed along as we were building the kitchen extension a few years ago, we’ve got another big old project about to start. We struggled for three years to get permission to extend into the loft. The architect was rather inept at the planning negotiations and we finally got rid of him and found a new chap who is much more dynamic. I am beyond excited as the project will at long last be starting in mid to late August and we should, cross fingers, be all done by Christmas. The place is currently a 2 bed bungalow and the build will be to fit 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs in what is now the loft. The kitchen made a massive difference, and this will too. I can’t wait!
